Private Grand Opening
The Hue Gallery presents an invite-only opening in celebration of our inaugural exhibition, Keys to the City. This private evening marks the official unveiling of our space and the beginning of a new cultural presence in downtown Hartford.
This intimate gathering brings together artist, collectors and cultural tastemakers for a first look at the work shaping our chapter. Curated hors d’oeuvres and live music will accompany the evening.
Keys to the City Opening Exhibition
Inspired by the tradition of being given the “Keys To The City,” this exhibition shifts the narrative where recognition isn’t handed down by institutions, but earned through vision, voice, and cultural impact.
Each artist is intentionally selected and presented as a key holder to The Hue Gallery. Through their work, they take ownership of the space. As our first exhibit they shape the energy, its narrative, and the way it’s experienced.
Bringing together artists from different states and CT natives, Keys To The City transforms HUE into a shared environment where the city is defined not only by those creating, but by everyone moving through it.
For this moment, we give you the “Keys To The City”.
The Critique
This event is nostalgic to all of the art students who have had to sit through boring art critiques where the teacher judges your artwork based on his/her perspective which often lacks a modern or unique lens. The critique is a 2 hr event during the week, for artists to bring their artwork and talk about it with the group and get critiqued. It's a laid back and respectful space that promotes networking and building connections.
The Family Room “an after dinner series”
The Family Room is a monthly storytelling and poetry night that recreates the feeling of sitting in a loved one’s home after dinner. Where the lights are low the tea is warm and stories begin to flow. Can sell tea, hot chocolate, and coffee. Think after dinner vibes.
