Jason Hayth

Artist Statement

J. Height’s work is contemporary figurative art grounded in cultural narrative and expressive portraiture. His practice explores identity, empowerment, and representation through bold color, dynamic composition, and emotionally resonant imagery.

Centering Black culture and lived experience, Height constructs visual narratives that balance realism with imaginative symbolism. His subjects are rendered with strength and presence, often infused with elements of music, spirituality, and transformation that expand the portrait beyond likeness into storytelling.

Working across canvas, mural installations, and wearable art, Height merges fine art sensibilities with contemporary cultural influence. His fusion of figurative painting and pop-culture reinterpretation positions his work within the broader landscape of contemporary narrative art.

Height’s work invites viewers to engage with themes of resilience, pride, and self-definition, creating pieces that are both visually impactful and socially resonant. At its core, Height’s work is about connection. Height creates to inspire confidence, spark conversation, and honor the beauty and complexity of the stories that shape us.
